How we handle your data
Who we are
This website belongs to Elling Shipbuilding B.V., Veerdam 1, 5308 JH Aalst, the Netherlands. We are responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@ellingyachting.com or +31 418 673 103.
We collect as little as we can. This website has no user accounts, shows no advertising and uses no tracking cookies.
Contact and quotation requests
When you send the contact form or request a personal quotation, we receive your name, email address, telephone number (if you give it), your message, and for a quotation the model, the options you chose and any boat you would like to part-exchange.
The website sends this to us by email and sends you a confirmation. The website itself does not store or log it. We use it only to answer you and to prepare and follow up on your quotation, which is the basis on which we process it: a step you asked for before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering questions about our yachts.
If you go from the contact form to a quotation, the details you already typed are carried over in your own browser tab, never in the web address, and disappear when you close that tab.
Job applications
When you apply for a vacancy, we receive your details, your CV and your cover letter by email, and send you a confirmation. The website does not store the files. We use your application only to assess it.
Visitor statistics
To learn how the website is used, we count visits with Umami, which we run on our own server. It places no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It does not store your IP address: it counts a visitor by a scrambled code that changes every month, and derives only your country from the address. It records which pages are viewed and which buttons are used, never what you type into a form. Nothing is shared with any other party.
Cookies and your browser
The website uses one cookie, elling_locale, which remembers the language you chose so that we can show it to you next time. It lasts up to a year and is needed for something you asked for, so it does not require consent.
Two other things are kept only in your browser tab and disappear when you close it: the contact details carried over to a quotation, described above, and your answer when you agree to load a virtual tour.
The virtual tour
The virtual tours of our yachts are provided by VRCloud. Nothing from VRCloud is loaded until you press "Load the tour" in the window that asks you first. Once loaded, VRCloud receives your IP address and may place its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. If you decline, nothing is loaded.
Images, hosting and email
The text and images of this website are managed in Sanity, and images are delivered from Sanity’s network, which, like any web server, receives your IP address to send them. The website runs on a server rented from a hosting provider, and the forms are delivered through an email provider. These parties process data only on our behalf. This website does not keep a log of visits.
Other websites
Links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Elling Brokerage and other websites take you to sites with their own privacy policies. Nothing from those sites is loaded on this website.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiries and quotation requests for as long as we need them to answer you and to follow up, and no longer than two years after our last contact unless they lead to an order, in which case the law requires us to keep the records of that order for seven years. Job applications are deleted four weeks after the vacancy is filled, or after one year if you allow us to keep them for a future vacancy.
Your rights
You may ask us which of your data we hold, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or give it to you or another party. You may also object to our use of it. Send your request to info@ellingyachting.com and we will answer within a month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
When the website changes how it handles data, we update this statement. This version is from October 2026.
